Messaging Architecture

What Treasure House says, to whom, and what backs it up. The sitemap decided what pages exist. This decides what the organisation claims — the source every page, appeal and grant draws from.

What Treasure House is — and isn't

The filter we hold every headline, photograph and section against. When something feels off, name the word it broke — "that photo is inspirational, not matter-of-fact" is a fixable note.

✓ We are SpecificMatter of factDignifiedNeighbourlyProven

Residents are people doing things, never recipients of a service. They are the subject of the sentence.

✗ We are not InspirationalCharitableClinicalInstitutionalSentimental

The sector's failure mode is pity dressed as praise. It reads as warmth and lands as condescension.

02

Positioning

If a competitor could say the same sentence, it isn't positioning. The word doing the work is address — everyone in the Valley offers support; almost nobody offers somewhere they live.

Positioning statement

For families whose son or daughter ages out of school support at 18, Treasure House is the Glendale supported-living community where 29 young adults have their own apartment, their own job and their own friends — not a program they attend, but an address that is theirs.

03

The message pyramid

Everything written for Treasure House should trace to one of these four. If a sentence doesn't ladder up, it's decoration.

Core message

At 18, school ends and the support ends with it. Treasure House is what comes after.

Pillar 01

A place that is actually theirs

Not a bed in a facility. A furnished one-bedroom apartment with their own front door.

Proof29 residents · furnished one-bedrooms · 7815 W Aspera Blvd, Glendale
Pillar 02

Support that doesn't go away

Life coaches and community assistants on site around the clock — what vanished at 18, rebuilt permanently.

Proof24/7 staffing · individual plans — "no two plans look alike"
Pillar 03

Work that is real work

Real jobs with real employers, chosen by the resident. Not busywork.

ProofEmployment & vocational services · employment rate unsourced — see 05
Pillar 04

People who keep showing up

Friendships, shared meals, a full calendar. What turns an apartment into a home.

ProofShared kitchen, lounge, game room, patio · Bobbie Martin: "not only a place to live — a place of belonging"

The same pillars, said to different people

The pillars don't change; the emphasis does. Families are the default — anything shared across audiences is written to a parent. Ways to Give and Donate invert that and are donor-first.

These are not preferences — they are lint rules. Copy is validated against them automatically, so a forbidden phrase fails a check rather than surviving to a review.

The admissions reframe

You're at capacity with an open waitlist, and "we're full" is a page exit. The frame that works: the families who end up ready are the ones who started the conversation years before they needed to. That makes the waitlist the recommended first step — and it's true.

At 18, school ends and the support ends with it. For families of a young adult with a disability, the options thin out fast. Treasure House is what comes after. Founded by Brenda and Kurt Warner — inspired by their son Zack — and open in Glendale, Arizona since 2018, it is home to 29 young adults who each have a furnished one-bedroom apartment with their own front door, life coaches on site around the clock, real jobs with real employers, and the shared meals and friendships that turn an apartment into a home. Treasure House covers half of every resident's tuition — about $50,000 a year.
